Stephen Moe was born in Glenwood to parents who met when Steve’s father saved his drowning mother from one of the many famous Glenwood floods by urging her to jump on the running board of his truck thereby allowing him to whisk her off to safety. Steve was born several years later. He grew up in Springfield, attained several degrees in engineering and physics and eventually created Intercity Engineering garnering patents in the US, Germany, and Japan. (There was the minor incident, in ninth grade, when Steve was investigated by Department of Defense for creating the “uranium heart” of the atomic bomb as a science project. It was evidently a bit too realistic.)
Steve has served on many boards including: Glenwood Water District Board, Willamalane Park District Board, Lane County Planning Commission, Private Industry Council, Springfield Planning Commission, Metro Area Planning Advisory Committee (MAPAC), Glenwood Jurisdictional Study, Glenwood Refinement Planning Board, Springfield Tomorrow Advisory Committee, Sheriff’s Special Ops Group, People for Good Government, 911-
